Thanks again for joining me in class today. I had a lot of fun, and I hope you did too. As we discussed the last lesson, we reminded ourselves of "Bare Necessities," or Precepts of the Church.
We learned that while the Precepts are needed, they are just a start. If we want to get "HIGHER," we will need to pursue "The Way," or the path of salvation to which only Jesus Christ will lead us.
The creation story in the Book of Genesis showed us that there are seasons. The Way is rhythmic. We see it in our liturgy, which follows a cycle of seasons denoted by the color of vestments worn by our priests.
To get HIGHER, we should order our lives according to these cycles. We should Pray, Work, Play, and Rest. The Benedictine Order modeled this for us through The Rule of St. Benedict.
Another way to get HIGHER is to engage in the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. Incorporate these into your lives.
See you soon! The Confirmation Rehearsal is at 3:30 today at the Church.
Peace in Christ+
