God us as body and soul composites. We have an intellect, a (free) will, and instinctual appetites. We were endowed with a conscience that can tell us right from wrong. It is a great system, but it needs to be well-formed to work correctly. To form our conscience we need to put in The Word of God, the teachings of the Church, and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. We also need to exercise it through regular Examinations of Consciences. This recipe will help us to make great decisions and put us on the path to happiness and ultimately sainthood.
